November Pride Book Club (Council Led Event)

21/11/2024 - Clive James Library and Service Centre

Join us for the November Pride Book Club at the library facilitated by queer author Erin Gough. This Pride Book Club will centre on the theme LGBTQI+ Australian authors.

Participants will be encouraged to think about the journey and development of different LQBTQI+ communities in Australia and how their fight for belonging and acceptance has taken place. This open discussion will help participants consider different perspectives and historical moments for LGBTQIA+ communities and how these have been represented in Australian society and culture. Participants are encouraged to read a text from the Georges River Libraries Pride Collection that reflects these ideas in an engaging and innovative way.

The Pride Book Club aims to promote books and graphic novels by LGBTQIA+ authors; provide an opportunity to discuss LGBTQIA+ stories, perspectives, and themes; and provide a supportive and inclusive environment that is open to everyone.
