Swooping Magpies
|
Some Australian Magpies are known to swoop pedestrians and cyclists in the area of their nest to protect their young. We've prepared a Magpie Factsheet to help members of the community to understand the behaviour of magpies and tips to avoid being swooped.
Please note: It is an offence to harm a native animal under the NSW Biodiversity Conservation Act 2016. Accordingly, we will not consider removing swooping magpies.

We place a high priority on enhancing the beauty, character and amenity of parks and reserves in the Georges River local area for the benefit of our community.
Council's strategic management of all parks and reserves in the local government area is detailed in these webpages and provides a snapshot of the facilities available in every park.
They also contain advice on how to apply to use these parks and reserves, and instructions to join one of our two community gardens where you can harvest your own fruit and vegetables.
Thank you for your feedback.
