Bushcare volunteer groups
Volunteer with us and help improve our local bushland while enjoying the benefits of working alongside other like-minded community members.
Our Bushcare volunteers help manage our area’s remnant bushland by mitigating the effects of vegetation fragmentation, urban run-off, invasion of garden species and noxious weeds (such as lantana and privet), vandalism (including tree poisoning and rubbish dumping) and feral animals. Our volunteers learn new skills by contributing to improve the diversity of Georges River’s indigenous native flora and help create habitat for our native animals.
If you are interested in caring for local bushland, check out the list of Bushcare Groups below to find out where the groups are located and when the work sessions are programmed. Volunteers are offered training and supervision from Council’s qualified bush regenerators. Tools and equipment are provided by Council.
You can register your interest by completing the Georges River Bush Carer form.
For further information, please email our Bushcare team.
Additional information on local bushcare volunteering opportunities can be found on the Georges River Council Bushcare Volunteers Facebook page.
