Our Diversity & Inclusion Committee collaborates with other teams to achieve the goals of our Equal Employment Opportunity Diversity and Inclusion Action Plan 2019 -2021.

We are committed to creating an inclusive and thriving workplace culture. We ensure our employees face no barriers to realising their potential.

Youth Inclusion

Council has committed to attracting, recruiting, developing and retaining youth and young professionals. We do this by investing in a Youth and Young Professional Plan. We are developing a talent pipeline to enable effective succession and workforce planning. This will help Council employ people with fresh ideas and diverse perspectives.
 

Disability Inclusion

​Council is committed to a providing employment and development opportunities for people with disability. As part of our Disability Inclusion Action Plan (DIAP), we aim to attract, recruit, develop and retain people with disability. The goal of the DIAP Council is to make our community inclusive and accessible for everyone.
 

Multicultural Inclusion

We have a Culturally and Linguistically Diverse (CALD) Employee Plan.  This aims to increase the number of people from diverse backgrounds in our workforce. CALD employees help us provide culturally appropriate programs within Council. We aim to provide a culturally safe and inclusive workplace.
 

Mature Age Inclusion

Council supports mature-age employees. Our Mature Age Employee Plan aims to retain their skills and knowledge, and support them as they transition into retirement.
 

Aboriginal & Torres Strait Islander Inclusion

Council acknowledges that the Bidjigal people of the Eora Nation. They are the original inhabitants and custodians of all the land and water in the Georges River region.

We have a First Nations Strategy Working Group. This aims to improve the employment outcomes and experiences of Indigenous people within Council. We apply the principles of recognition, respect, equity, access, participation, consultation and opportunity to all First Nations people in our community.
