Environmental Management


Council's Environmental Health Officers investigate and resolve incidents reported throughout the Georges River area on various Environmental Protection and Management matters, including:

  • Air Pollution
  • Contaminated Land and Acid Sulfates
  • Water Pollution
  • Noise

By undertaking these investigations and reporting on incidents raised our Environmental Health Officers can ensure that public health and safety is maintained as well as achieve the critical goal of better protecting our local environments and associated impacts on our waterways, air, soil, flora and fauna. 

Air Pollution
Information on various air pollution issues including spray painting on properties, smoke and nuisance burning, and dust from building sites.
Contaminated Land/ Acid Sulfate
Information on contamination of the land and acid sulfate soils that are present in the Georges River area.
Noise
Information on noise and a number of government agencies that can respond to the noise nuisance you may be experiencing.
Water Pollution
Information on water pollution and one of the most common ways pollutants enter our beautiful river - via stormwater.
