International Games Month: Game On at Georges River Libraries (Council Led Event)

Get your game on for International Games Month! It’s Game On for International Games Month at Georges River Libraries!
Visit Hurstville Library to play a range of tabletop gaming activities. Activities include: minigame maps, chess, board games, miniatures painting, a take-and-make terrain building craft, a take-and-play game to enjoy at home, and learn-to-play Dungeons & Dragons sessions.
Drop-in activities include:

Borrow a Board Game: Ages 6 plus recommended: Bring some friends or make new ones while you borrow a board game and play a friendly game in the library’s curated pop-up board game library.

Chess: Ages 6 plus recommended: Drop in and play a game of chess against others. Winners can face off on our giant chessboard of champions! Win 5 games and receive a certificate.

Minigame Mapquest: All Ages: Travel around the library and play a minigame at each station to earn a stamp on your passport. Complete your passport to win a small prize!

Puzzle Place: All Ages: Relax and place a few puzzle pieces! Work on a puzzle until it is complete or contribute a few pieces to one being built collaboratively by the community.

Free Take Home Kits: Ages 12 plus recommended: Pick up a DIY Dungeon craft kit to build a dungeon for tabletop roleplaying games out of paper and cardboard or pick up a print-and-play paper game from International Games Month to take and enjoy at home.

Miniatures Painting: Ages 12 plus recommended: Bring your own tabletop roleplaying game mini to paint at our minis painting station.

Workshops that Require Bookings
Adventure Academy: Learn to Play Dungeons & Dragons: Children aged 12 plus and their parents. Spaces are limited for these workshops so bookings are required. Please click the links below to book your place.
At the Adventure Academy children aged 12 plus and their parents will learn the basics of Dungeons & Dragons 5th edition, from understanding a character sheet and rolling dice to working with your party to navigate in-game social interactions and using creative problem solving to explore fictional dungeon rooms. Perfect for those new to roleplaying, Adventure Academy will give you a crash course in this exciting hobby.

- For participants aged 10 years and under, parents and/or guardians of children must remain in the library for the duration of the program.
- For participants under the age of 16, parent and/or guardian contact details must be provided at the time of booking. Remove if your programs are for ages 16 plus.
- If you arrive more than 10 minutes after the advertised start time and there are people in the standby queue, your ticket may be allocated to the standby queue.
- If you are unable to attend, please cancel your registration at least 3 hours prior to the event. As Library Programs have limited spaces, repeated failure to notify staff of cancellations may result in bookings being refused in the future.
