Georges River Council engages Traffix for Traffic Impact Assessment

12/11/2024

Georges River Council has engaged Traffix to undertake a traffic impact assessment for the next stage of the Princes Highway/Jubilee Avenue and Princes Highway/Park Road Intersection Study.

The work is set to commence this week, with modelling and investigations continuing through November and December.

Council will ensure that peak periods of congestion are the focus of this investigation with the goal of freeing up traffic movement on our local roads.

Once the relevant data has been obtained, it will be analysed and modelled with recommendations to be put forward in a draft report to Council and Transport for NSW (TfNSW), as the Princes Highway is a state road.

Georges River Council Mayor Elise Borg said, “We appreciate that this is a long-standing and complex issue.

“It is a priority of Council's to address the congestion and safety issues at both intersections in collaboration with Transport for NSW.

“We will ensure that the community remains fully informed and has the opportunity to be engaged to have their say on any proposed changes.”

Council will conduct community consultation where they can give feedback early next year. A final report and recommendations are due in April 2025.
