Council at its meeting on 27 May 2024 resolved to adopt the revised Tree Management Policy and Amendment No.6 to the Georges River Development Control Plan 2021 (GRDCP) in accordance with the provisions of the Local Government Act 1993, Environmental Planning and Assessment Act 1979 and its Regulation 2021. 

The revised Policy has been drafted with a renewed focus on the enhancement and management of trees to facilitate the delivery of the adopted canopy target. Amendment No.6 to the GRDCP has been prepared to accompany the revised Policy with tree management controls. 

The revised Policy and Amendment No.6 to the GRDCP will come into effect on 10 June 2024. All development applications submitted before 10 June 2024 will be determined as if the subject amendment had not commenced.
