Georges River Council has engaged a contractor to complete the demolition of the Oatley Bay Memorial Boardwalk. The boardwalk was closed in April 2024 to ensure the safety of the public following advice from a structural engineer. Demolition is now required prior to the design and construction of a new boardwalk in future financial years. 

All works will abide by the NSW EPA regulations within the Protection of the Environment Operations Act 1997 to limit impacts to the surrounding environment and residents. 

Work is expected to commence on Monday 17 June 2024 and will be undertaken Monday to Friday between 7.00am and 6.00pm for an approximate one week duration.
