Proposed changes to parking in Beverly Hills town centre

Public Notices 05/04/2024

Georges River Council propose to improve parking for visitors to the shopping and entertainment precinct at Beverly Hills.

What are we doing?

Georges River Council has worked with Transport for NSW (TfNSW) to review current parking arrangements and identify opportunities to improve parking for visitors to the town centre.

Council proposes to temporarily convert some existing unrestricted parking spaces in the surrounding residential area, to timed parking. The parking restrictions will be reassessed at the end of the trial before a final decision is made.

Benefits

Beverly Hills is a key strategic location that offers an abundance of amenities and services for the local community. To ensure small businesses surrounding King Georges Road continue to thrive, additional short-term parking is proposed for their customers.

These temporary changes will be located within a short walking distance and will provide more short term parking spaces for customers, residents, and businesses in the local area.

The temporary changes will provide improved pedestrian connectivity, accessibility, and priority along and across the corridor while improving vehicle turnover throughout the day.

Location of parking changes

The changes will be on the following local residential streets in Beverly Hills:

  • Frederick Avenue east of King Georges Road to Lee Avenue.
  • Car park south of Frederick Avenue.
  • Norfolk Avenue east of King Georges Road to Lee Avenue.
  • Beresford Avenue east of King Georges Road to Lee Avenue.
  • Car park south of Beresford Avenue.
  • Edgbaston Road east of Melvin Street to King Georges Road.
  • Hampden Street south of Edgbaston Road to Stoney Creek Road.
  • Melvin Street south of Edgbaston Road to 15 Melvin Street.
