Help us review The Plan in November

06/11/2024

Georges River Council will review its Community Strategic Plan, also known as “The Plan”, and invite the community to give feedback in November.

The Plan is the highest level of strategic planning for local councils, outlining the main priorities of the community over a ten-year period. This document serves as the voice of our communities and stakeholders, reflecting your ideas and aspirations for our local area.

Following local government elections, councils are required to review their Community Strategic Plan. The November review is a check-in to make sure The Plan is still relevant and meaningful.

Council is encouraging the community to view The Plan 2022-2032 before our Your Say online survey and eight pop-up consultations take place between 4-30 November 2024.

Georges River Council Mayor Elise Borg said, “We encourage all community members to take part in this important process as your feedback will shape the direction we will take on our Local Government Area for years to come.

“Our team will be out and about near you in November to have a chat on your views and capture your feedback; you can also express your views online through Council’s Your Say page.

“For the first time, we are having two youth-specific consultations as we value the opinions and feedback from our under-25 residents. We are also having other targeted workshops with local key groups and stakeholders.”

The final pop-up consultation for all ages will be a free barbecue at Oatley Park thanks to the Oatley Lions Club, celebrating a month of working together to shape the future of our area.
